Confirmed Covid-19 Cases at Multiple ASD-W Schools - December 20, 2021

Good Evening Parents and Guardians,

This message is written to the families of students from the following schools:

  • Assiniboine Avenue Elementary School
  • Chipman Forest Avenue School
  • Gibson-Neill Memorial Elementary School
  • Hartland Community School
  • Harvey Elementary School
  • Nashwaaksis Middle School
  • Priestman Street School
  • Townsview School

From their work today, Public Health has confirmed one or more cases of Covid-19 among individuals from these schools. Therefore, action for students of each of the schools is as follows:

  • Assiniboine Avenue Elementary School - All students, even though they are not attending school at this time, are required to continue rapid testing daily and monitor for symptoms. If one symptom arises, please book a PCR test.
  • Chipman Forest Avenue School –  Students remain in distance learning. Any students currently rapid testing should follow their previous letter from Public Health. Any new students identified as close contacts will receive a Public Health letter from the school principal, requiring them to begin rapid testing immediately. If students produce a positive test or one symptom arises, please book a PCR test immediately.
  • Gibson-Neill Memorial Elementary School - All students, even though they are not attending school at this time, are required to continue rapid testing daily and monitor for symptoms. If one symptom arises, please book a PCR test.
  • Hartland Community School – All students, even those already on Holiday Break, are required to continue with rapid testing as per their previous letter from Public Health. All 7-12 students who produce a negative test and have no symptoms should plan to come to school until their Holiday Break begins. If students produce a positive test or one symptom arises, please book a PCR test.
  • Harvey Elementary SchoolAll students, even though they are not attending school at this time, are required to complete rapid testing daily and monitor for symptoms. If one symptom arises, please book a PCR test.
  • Nashwaaksis Middle School – All students, whether on Holiday Break or are distance learning, must continue rapid testing daily and monitor for symptoms. If one symptom arises, please book a PCR test.
  • Priestman Street School - All students, even though they are not attending school at this time, are required to continue rapid testing daily and monitor for symptoms. If one symptom arises, please book a PCR test.
  • Townsview School – All students, even those already on Holiday Break, are required to begin rapid testing per the Public Health letter sent by your principal. All 7-8 students who produce a negative test tonight and before school tomorrow morning should plan to attend school for their last day before the Holiday Break. If students produce a positive test or one symptom arises, please stay home and book a PCR test.
